Tails from the Vault

New owl buttons. I created two designs for the button show and publication that goes along with the Tails from the Vault show at the U of L Art Gallery.

This show was curated from the enormous art collection by the Trap\door ARC Board (which includes me.) I also helped put together the publication with Brenna Kanski and Chai Duncan.
We concentrated on contemporary imagery of animals found in the collection. I'm pretty excited to show the world what we found. Imagine giant stuffed dogs with apartment buildings and speakers in their bellies, giant paintings of cats, flocked bunny prints! Awesome!

The publication is very whimsical. If you purchase a Trap\door membership at the show, you will receive a free copy. An amazing deal!!!

Post Failure - Font Maybe

Four days in - already off the posting everyday band wagon... Ugh. Insomnia followed by falling asleep in the middle of the day does not for good blogging make. I'm going to pretend the last two days didn't happen.

Here is a link to an interesting quiz: What FONT Are You?

Apparently, I'M COURIER.

Supposedly because I'm "unconventional." Well yes, I guess I am but I'm not a huge fan of courier. Maybe because its too obvious and I associate it with handmade punk zines. And don't get me wrong, I LOVE handmade zines but I think I'm trying to project a classier font these days.

Quiz link was found on the Objectified film site.

Alarm Dance

This video art just tickled me as an unusual form of protest.

Mongolian Booties

When shoveling snow, I like to think of other more exotic snowy places on my travel list. Tuva or Mongolia is on that list. If I was shoveling snow in Mongolia, I would certainly be wearing boots like these. Awesome handmade boots. You can buy these online here but will have to make a tracing of your feet first.

I would rather buy them first hand in Tuva.

Multiples - Rune Guneriussen

Rune Guneriussen takes photos of mutiples of common place furnishings in the wilderness. I find her imagery whimsical and would love to be walking in the forest and stumble into this scene. Oh and I would be wearing a red cloak.

I think I stumbled onto this via Apartment Therapy.

NaBloPoMo

Back at it...

I'm going to try blogging again and endeavour not to get too distracted by other passions, dreams, whims, events, ideas, life and kittens.

Really. Seriously. No procrastinating about it.

There is something about writing a little bit every day. It clears the mind trap. I tried having very 'chatty' posts and then I tried sharing just links. For various reasons, neither really worked for me. So I'm going to try and hybrid the two different styles into something that inspires me to keep it up... Also, I struggle with being both an introvert and an extrovert. It just depends on how I wake up in the morning. (Usually more introvert.) This leads to having a very strange relationship with commenting. Sometimes I want them and sometimes I don't. So I'm still going to keep the comments off for now. This may change.

Anyways, "Hi! Happy New Year! Much Luck, Prosperity and Happiness throughout 2009!"
